  Liberty Nickels How To Order
1883 With CENTS
PCGS AU 58
This first year of issue coin was introduced later in the year to thwart racketeers who dipped the earlier type in gold and passed them off as $5 coins. This 2'nd type has the word CENTS spelled out to avoid any confusion.
This is a coin that PCGS and NGC disagreed on. This one is tricky in that the soft strike on this coin can easily be confused with wear. NGC called it MS 61. PCGS must have attributed the lack of cartwheel luster on the cheek as wear though luster remains on the areas protected by the devices. $135
  Buffalo Nickels How To Order
1913 Type 1
PCGS AU 58
This neat example of a 1 year type has full details. Minor signs of wear on the highest parts of the design subtly betray its status as a circulated coin.
1913 is the first year of issue for one of America's favorite coins. The FIVE CENTS on the mound the bison stands on wore down so quickly the Mint altered the design mid-year. $35
1926
NGC MS 65
$145 Please ask for photo.
1935
PCGS MS 64
Here is an affordable and original Uncirculated Buffalo nickel for your herd. $65
1935-S
PCGS MS 64
Nice near gem Buffalo. Blue highlights on the Indian's cheekbone and hair with gold toning on the rest. $95
1937-D
PCGS MS 65
This lustrous gem has a touch of gold toning. $75
  Jefferson Nickels How To Order
1938
David Hall PR 65
David Hall started guaranteeing his grading before founding PCGS. The coins are protected by Cointain holders then sealed in a soft plastic 2x2 along with the label. This nickel is impeccable with a hint of blue toning and might grade PR 66 today. $150
1938
PCGS PR 67
Neat coin with very reflective fields. It has toned a translucent light blue tending to violet in the centers. $425
1938-D
NGC MS 67
Nice luster, light gold toning, more gold than the photo shows. It is a later die state with a pleasing look. $55
1938-S
NGC MS 67
This one has booming luster and a hint of gold toning. It is nicer than most '38-S Jeffs I've seen. $155
1940-D
PCGS MS 67 Full Steps
Beauty, strike and excellent luster justify the super high grade on this ultra gem. $295
1941
PCGS PR 66
$120 Please ask for photo.
1941
PCGS PR 66
Most 1941 Proof Jefferson Nickels have evidence of die polishing on Jefferson's shoulder. This one is unusual in that it doesn't. It is probably one of the earliest proof nickels produced in 1941. $165 Please ask for photo.
1942-P Type 1
PCGS PR 66
This highly attractive proof Jefferson Nickel has reflective fields with sky blue toning accents. $165
1942-P Type 1
PCGS PR 67
The 1942 Type 1s were produced before the mint switched to the War Nickels. This brilliant example has reflective fields with the slightest hint of white patina on the devices. $175
1942-P Type 2
PCGS PR 64
This proof War Nickels resides in a 1'st generation "rattler" PCGS holder. It has a light cameo reverse which is scarce. $125
1942-P Type 2
PCGS PR 67
1942 is the only year War Nickels are available in proof format. This is the one that is partly silver and has the large mint mark above Monticello. The fields are very reflective under light haze on both sides. $325
1953
PCGS PR 66 Cameo
$165 Please ask for photo.
1953
PCGS PR 67 Cameo
Tough year for Cameo proof Jefferson nickels with Deep Cameos being truly rare. $250
1953
PCGS PR 68 Cameo
This proof Jefferson has deep mirror like fields with nicely frosted devices. It has a subtle hint of gold toning. There are only 16 at this level with none higher. This is a significant coin as there are only 3 in Deep Cameo in all grades put together. Wohlforth pedigree. $1,145 Please ask for photo.
1956
PCGS MS 66 Full Steps

$65 1965 Cameo Jefferson Nickel
